Many people have criticized the book Crown of Chaos as being much inferior to the previous Warhammer Throne (Proof of the Sun King), but it is only slightly better than The Lord of the End.

Regarding this point, I admit that there is nothing to defend. This book is indeed much inferior to the Warhammer one.

First, after experiencing a peak period of strong desire for expression, my personal creative state has declined significantly. This is related to the constant pressure in real life (such as urging marriage, mortgage), and also to the changes in the current general environment. Chapters are blocked from time to time, and I have joined some organizations. I repeatedly tell them that this will not work and that will not work.

The fusion of DND themes and Warhammer themes came from a book friend's suggestion and my inspiration after playing the beta version of Baldur's Gate 3. At that time, I thought that the combination of the two would be interesting, so I browsed hundreds of MB After reading the document, I started writing.

However, the worst thing about Baldur's Gate 3 is that it may make ordinary people like me think that the background story, rules and power system of DND are interesting and simple.

The fact is that after the initial novelty wore off, my head almost exploded when I looked at these vast contents.

Only then did I realize that I barely understood and understood the hammer, and had my own opinions, but I was an out-and-out cloud dog about DND. I was not very interested in this subject, and it was difficult to put it into a framework. Within the scope of my own writing, I have been making some small mistakes, even though I have read a lot of information.

The adventure and complex settings of DND are very incompatible with the farming and war settings of Warhammer.

This is my own problem.

When I was writing the content of Hammer, I looked up information everywhere when I had nothing to do. I looked at the Google Grass Generator even if I didn’t understand it, but I was very interested. As for the content of DND, I didn’t even want to touch it if it was not necessary for writing. This subject matter There is nothing new for me.

This has led to a decline in writing interest and writing status. Readers must have discovered that in the past few years, I would take the initiative to add updates. In the past two years, not only have I not taken the initiative to add updates, but I have even delayed updating until the last minute every day.

If you are conflicted in your heart and try to escape intentionally, readers will naturally be able to feel what you write.

Secondly, any author, if he has the choice, would not want to repeat himself over and over again, but human nature will not change. I discovered this when I was writing. Although I pretended to be the Four Gods on the surface I am a believer, but I am actually an out-and-out fan of the Emperor. Although I gave the protagonist an identity chosen by the four gods, I kept going back to the old path of being a loyal servant of the Emperor.

This resulted in the emperor’s appearance being abrupt and lacking in response, and also resulted in the Four Gods of Chaos being written as funny and not oppressive enough. The protagonist’s back and forth swinging left and right made his character unstable and insufficient. Attractive.

In this way, I consciously avoided the core content of DND, and I was wavering about the plot, so the main theme of the book became confusing. In the chaotic situation, I had to spend a lot of time thinking about the direction of the plot, but every day The pressure of updating was all here, which made me subconsciously play with a lot of jokes and some astringent content. I fixed the plot chapters and mixed the number of words in the introductory chapters, which directly led to the decline in the quality of the book.

Third, the design of this book is too big. When I designed this book, I planned to expand it to several million words, so I designed a lot of branch lines and large volumes, but when it came time to actually write it, , because of the above reasons, the plot was scattered and messy. After writing for a long time, I couldn't write the actual content, and I was trying my best to make a bigger picture.

When Baldur's Gate 3 came out, I was addicted to Baldur 3 again, so I supplemented the content of Baldur 1 and 2, and then I couldn't help but want to add the plot of Baldur. Looking at it now, this part The plot is not well written and lacks sufficient connections between the past and the present.

In fact, someone had already reminded me of these problems when I reached more than a hundred chapters, but at that time I just thought that the plot would be spread out, but by this time, I realized that the Baldur's Gate volume was very poorly written, even When I looked back at the previous volumes, I felt they were not good enough. I thought well at the beginning, but why did it end up like this when I wrote it?

Just cut off unnecessary subplots and parts that I feel uncomfortable writing and that readers don’t want to read.
